Pending School Closure update 11am 19.03.2020

19th March 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

In line with Government guidance, from Monday we are only open to children of key workers and vulnerable children. We have defined key workers as:

  • National health service
  • School Staff
  • Armed forces
  • Care home workers
  • Social workers
  • Police officers
  • Prison officers
  • Fire fighters
  • Environmental health officers
  • Highways Agency workers
  • Supermarket workers
  • Delivery drivers

Where there are two parents in a household, if one of them is a keyworker and one of them is not we would expect that the non key worker would provide the necessary childcare. Therefore, that child will not be in school.

We are contacting parents of vulnerable children directly to establish whether they would be best supported at school or at home.

If you are a key worker and there is no facility for childcare at home, please ring the office (01202 692700) by 3pm today Thursday 19.03.20 indicating whether your child will be in school on Monday.

For children who are at home, we will be sending home some suggested activities that they might undertake during this school closure.

Once again, we thank you for your understanding whilst we apply the guidance given by the Government and are grateful for your patience whilst we work out the finer details to support our pupils and their families.

Miss Budden

"Pupils thrive at the school, developing outstanding attitudes to learning due to the excellent relationships they form with adults and the very practical, interesting and challenging lesson activities provided. Their excellent behaviour is evident in all aspects of school life."
