Bronze Level Ocean Award

24th May 2019

What a surprise we had at Springdale today!  During an assembly, we were alerted to some extremely exciting news!  Mr Payne, from Plastic Education, came all the way to our school to award us with our Bronze Level Ocean Guardians Challenge accreditation!  This award feels even more special for us as Mr Payne told us that we were the very first school to receive the award!

The Eco Warriors and all Springdale pupils have worked so hard to receive this award, learning about the impact that plastic has on the oceans and making a real difference for the future of our oceans through world record attempts, litter picks, to campaigning to Cool Milk to stop using plastic straws and enjoying watersports!

We are now very excited for the upcoming World Oceans Day on 7th June, when we will be watching the Ocean Guardians Assembly and taking part in Ocean themed learning that will go towards helping us to achieve our Silver level Ocean Guardians Challenge accreditation.

"Pupils thrive at the school, developing outstanding attitudes to learning due to the excellent relationships they form with adults and the very practical, interesting and challenging lesson activities provided. Their excellent behaviour is evident in all aspects of school life."
