Crazy Creatures

26th January 2018

At Springdale we aim to bring our learning to life through a stimulating and purposeful curriculum. We strive to promote the awe and wonder of all learners through rich and engaging experiences. As part of Reception and Year 4’s Rainforest topics, the children were visited on Thursday 25th January by some rather extraordinary visitors; a snake, a tarantula, a cockroach and an owl but to name a few! Our children astounded us with their bravery as they held cockroaches and millipedes and stroked the snakes and lizards! They asked excellent questions all about the variety of different animals that live in the rainforests around the world and Year 4 also asked our visitor lots about the impact deforestation is having on these creatures. Imagining creatures from across the globe can be a challenging task with no first-hand experience of them so we are very grateful to Ian from Crazy Creatures for bringing us these exciting creatures to see up close!

"Pupils thrive at the school, developing outstanding attitudes to learning due to the excellent relationships they form with adults and the very practical, interesting and challenging lesson activities provided. Their excellent behaviour is evident in all aspects of school life."
