At Springdale, children enjoy two PE lessons a week, one inside and one outside. Lessons cover a whole range of physical activities including indoor and outdoor games as well as gymnastics and dance. In 2017/18, we were proudly awarded the Bronze School Games Mark for our commitment to the development of competition across the school and into the community. Following this, in 2018/19, we were thrilled to be chosen to host Joe Wicks as part of his 'UK Schools HIIT Tour' and to be awarded the Gold School Games Mark for all our efforts in sport. In 2019/20, we were delighted to be recognised for our ongoing commitment and achievement in the School Games Programme and hope to achieve this again in 2020/21.
Sports ambassadors play a very important role at school – they motivate and inspire other pupils and are positive role models for sport and PE.
This year, we are yet to be able to appoint our Sports ambassadors. However, we do hope that restrictions will allow for training to take place later in the year so the children can continue with the incredible work of their predecessors.
Unfortunately, due to restrictions, our sports clubs are unable to run at the moment, but if you would like some ideas on activities you can do to contribute towards the recommended 60 minutes of activity each day please visit here.
When we are able to, we hope to offer a variety of opportunities for children to stay active after school. In the meantime, here is a sample of the activities Springdale First School usually offers:
Zumba 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Multi-sports 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Netball 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Football 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Yoga 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Uh oh! There is no sports club today. Why don't you try Rock Choir or Code Club?
Fitness 3:00pm - 4:00pm
